History of the Association

International Association of Orphanages was founded 1992 in Moscow by enthusiasts and former inmates of orphanages. The Association is intended to help former inmates of orphanages. We are perfectly aware of the fact that these are former inmates of orphanages who are the most socially unprotected people in Russia. After leaving orphan's homes they have no food, no clothes and no custody. The children face cruel environment and become criminals, prostitutes or die from dearth and chill. Within the Association former inmates of orphan's homes can help each other to resist severe reality.

Now about thousand persons work in our Association. All these people do know the problems of orphans and try to help them. Strange as it might seem, but people, who are in need, are likely to come to the rescue first and ready to share the little they have. However their assistance isn't sufficient and so we decided to create this web page in order to attract people all over the world to the problems of Russian orphans.

Today our Association has ten branches in Russia, a newspaper "Happy Day - White Roses" and even a pop band "The ink for 5th form".

President of the Association is Vyacheslav S. Klimoff, who is the former inmate of an orphanage himself. He is a leader of Orphanage Movement in Russia and he makes a great deed helping the orphans to get a shelter, job and happy life.
